An intense and practical weekend for all screenwriters to help take your script to the next level
This two-day, intensive course in screenwriting is aimed at screenwriters and aspiring screenwriters looking to take their ideas and/or scripts to the next level.
Two tutors will teach two lively, interactive classes to a maximum of 15 people per class over Saturday and Sunday at The Guardian's offices in London. There will be time for writers to discuss their own ideas within the class, as well as to benefit from the tutors' structured lessons on such key topics as story structure, character and dialogue. Those taking part do not need much experience of screenwriting, just a desire to take their work and their ambition to write for cinema to a new level.
Tutors include Kate Leys, is a script editor who works mainly on feature films. She has been head of development at several companies including Film4, where she was based for five years, commissioning and developing films such as Four Weddings and a Funeral, Trainspotting and The Full Monty.
